The Department of Philosophy of the Seminary is in affiliation with the University of Ibadan. The Department offers a B.A. Honours Philosophy Programme.

1. Research Methodology

The Department emphasizes a structured approach to academic research. Students must adopt an appropriate methodology depending on the type of research (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods).

2. Required Components
  • Term Papers and Assignments must include an introduction, literature review, methodology, findings, discussion, conclusion, and references.
  • Projects must follow the same structure, with additional emphasis on data collection and analysis.
  • All submissions should follow the Department’s approved formatting guidelines.
3. Reference Style
  • MLA (Modern Language Association)
  • APA (American Psychological Association)
  • Any other style approved by the Department supervisor.

In-text citations and reference lists must be accurate and complete to avoid plagiarism.

4. Formatting Guidelines
  • Font: Times New Roman or Arial
  • Font Size: 12pt for body text, 14pt for headings
  • Line Spacing: 1.5 for body text
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • Page Numbering: Bottom center
  • Tables and Figures should be clearly labeled and referenced in the text
